Letter from 2024-2025 MSC CAMAC Chair
My name is Julianna Solorzano and I’m excited to be serving my second year as MSC CAMAC Chair. My hometown is Fort Worth, Texas and I’ll be graduating in the spring with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. Enough about me…
MSC CAMAC has truly been a home for me. When I entered a predominantly white institution, I felt out of place. MSC CAMAC not only offered a safe space but a home away from home environment. I can’t thank the members and executives enough as they’ve become lifelong friends. MSC CAMAC has given me a sense of belonging. Growing up in the suburbs of Fort Worth, I craved community and a deeper connection to my Mexican-American heritage. This organization has provided me with that experience and I’m incredibly grateful and honored to serve as Chair for the second time.
MSC CAMAC has not only connected me with lifelong friends but has also significantly impacted my professional growth. Moving from vice chair to returning Chair has provided me invaluable real-world experience. Professional development is crucial for students, and I’ve experienced significant growth this past year myself.
As Chair, I urge you to continue supporting MSC CAMAC. Future CAMACers will need a safe space, a home, and a place to develop their skills. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to those who have supported MSC CAMAC over the years by attending our events or hosting our Mi Casa program. My warmest regards to you all.
I’m more than excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of MSC CAMAC this year and continue spreading awareness of our culture.
Welcome to our familia!
