Brought to you by MSC CAMAC & MSC AGGIE CINEMA, the first event for the month will be a screening of the 2014 biopic Cesar Chavez. The event will be screencast through Kast, which will allow the audience to participate in meaningful discussion throughout the viewing and a post-film discussion will follow on Zoom where questions and takeaways from the movie will be discussed among participants and facilitators.

Cesar Chavez chronicles the birth of a modern American movement, following the story of the legendary civil and labor rights leader as he’s torn between his duty to his family and his commitment to securing a living wage for farm workers. Outspoken but gentle, willful but soft spoken, Chavez embraced non-violence as he battled greed and prejudice in his struggle to bring dignity to people. Chavez inspired millions of Americans, from all walks of life, to fight for social justice. His triumphant journey is a remarkable testament to the power of one individual’s ability  to change the world and would make him an enduring symbol of freedom and equality for generations to come.
