About Us

Letter from 2009-2010 Interim Chair

Howdy! Welcome to MSC CAMAC. Since our inception in 1974, the Memorial Student Center Committee for the Awareness of Mexican-American Culture has continually strived to unite students from diverse backgrounds promoting Hispanic Culture, while creating great leaders. This year is packed with events, some of which you will be planning with your subcommittees. This should not only be enlightening, but fun as well. Each of our events will bring us closer to achieving our goals, all while bringing us together as a committee. The sucess of MSC CAMAC depends on you, so each one of you matter. MSC CAMAC will enable you to experience everything you hoped you would at Texas A&M University. We are Aggies. We are Leaders. We are Friends. We are You. Every year is a new beginning and this one will be the best yet. Here is to 35 years of greatness! Thanks and Gig'em. - Jose Chapa

Mission

Founded in 1974, the Memorial Student Center Committee for the Awareness of Mexican-American Culture (MSC CAMAC) is a student organization that focuses on uniting students from diverse backgrounds to establish an appreciation for various Hispanic cultures on the Texas A&M campus and Bryan/College Station community. We motivate the community to learn about these cultures through informative programs. Our committee engages in cultural and educational events, as well as in recruitment efforts for high school and transfer students. We also offer student leadership opportunities within the Memorial Student Center for our members.

Goals Statement

The Committee for the Awareness of Mexican-American Culture (CAMAC) has been an MSC organization for over thirty years. Throughout the years we have dedicated ourselves to educating and serving our community as well as diversifying our campus. We also focus on instilling in our members leadership, communication, commitment, innovation, initiative, honor, diversity, and academia.
